This video was a part of an installation in 2006 during ‘Hybrid Sonicscapes’, a sound art workshop, at the Khoj International Artists Association, New Delhi, India. This video was a tribute to Balbir Singh Katt, a well known Indian Artist, Sculptor and Dean of The Fine Arts department at the Benaras Hindu University in Varanasi, India. In 1999 Mr. Katt was reported missing and hasn’t been seen since. I had met Mr. Katt during a seminar in my college, where he had presented a paper. I remember spending some time with him and was very taken with his mild manner and encouraging nature. The video shows images of the Yamuna River that passes through Delhi. Mr. Katt was rumoured to have been seen on the banks of the Yamuna river, some months after he was reported missing. In this video I simply wanted to portray the remembrance of a missing person through music/sound.
